Patient-centered care is at the heart of what we do at Riverside Health and Rehab. We work together and listen to your needs to meet the common goal of improving your functioning so that you can return to a full, productive life.
Riverside Health and Rehab is a 160-bed skilled nursing facility centrally located in Charleston, South Carolina with easy access to area hospitals. We serve many types of patients with both short- and long-term care needs and a variety of funding sources, including Medicare and most major insurances. We also provide respite care and a choice of several hospice agencies to assist with end-of-life care if desired by a family.
One of our most outstanding features is our Cardio Pulmonary Pavilion, designed to provide specialized care for those who have recently experienced a cardiac or pulmonary event so they can regain their strength and independence. We contract with a medical director, nurse practitioner, and pulmonologist to serve our cardiopulmonary patients. Cardiac rehabilitation begins in the hospital and continues on an outpatient basis after discharge.
Our other therapy services include speech, physical, and occupational therapy, with an emphasis on lifestyle education to help you regain and maintain your independence. Short-term skilled nursing services and long-term care at Riverside are guided by a plan of care designed around the individual needs of each patient, with a wide range of services available, including:
- IV therapy
- Wound VAC
- TPN
- Transportation to specialist appointments
- Wanderguard
Riverside Health and Rehab features daily activities and enrichment programs for our residents. Our activity calendar is constantly evolving to include activities that will speak to all residents. Our residents enjoy regular excursions into the community for dining, shopping, and special events. We also provide various on-site activities, including arts and crafts, games, and worship services. Cable television and wireless internet are provided, as well as the service of a registered dietician and laundry services.
